Overview

Trade dress for a pharmaceutical product is its physical drug identifiers and packaging attributes such as color, shape, imprints, flavor, package configurations, and package functionality.  This Marketing position will research and assist in defining the trade dress for Teva’s extensive pipeline of generic products in the U.S.  Product forms include oral, topical, nasal, respiratory, sterile, and drug devices. 

 

This position will research each product using IMS/IQVIA and other industry data sources, and gather input from various internal teams such as R&D, New Product & Portfolio Management, Market Research, Regulatory, Legal, and Package Engineering.  Once a trade dress recommendation is ready, this person will coordinate the necessary internal approvals and record the final trade dress in a centralized database.

 

This position requires is a self-starter; someone who is analytical yet with good attention to detail; an out-of-the-box thinker with strong organization, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:                                               

 

  1. Research the product including the innovator, competition, comparable products, and sales and prescription data. Consider the needs of the patient, trade channel customers, and any unmet market needs and opportunities.
  2. Assist in identifying physical product appearance and packaging attributes for new products in development, taking into consideration the needs of customers and patients. Collaborate with internal groups to understand any requirements from regulatory, production, and customers, as well as patent and trademark restrictions. Coordinate approval of trade dress by key internal stakeholders within the given timeframe.
  3. Analyze and recommend package sizes (the number of units per package) for the product’s initial stability testing phase, and again later to recommend the final package sizes to take to market. Coordinate review and approval by key internal stakeholders within the given timeframe.
  4. Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings and discussions, and foster good working relationships with R&D, New Product & Portfolio Management, Market Research, Regulatory, Legal, Package Engineering, and Sales.
  5. Set up products in Teva’s enterprise system: create NDC numbers, gather and verify product and product details to ensure information is correct, and complete required documentation
  6. Assist in managing a database of current product trade dress information. Maintain thorough and organized files.
  7. Assist in trade name development for key products and coordinating projects with external agencies/consultants. Collaborate with Marketing, Legal, and Regulatory groups.             
  8. Be familiar with and comply with current FDA regulations and guidance relating to trade dress, as well as all Teva SOPs relating to this function.

Travel Requirements:                                  Domestic and international travel (10%)

Qualifications

 

 

Position Requirements

Education Required:

·         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience

Experience Required:

·         2+ years of Project management experience

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed:

·         IMS/ IQVIA Experience in using SMART, NPA and NSP is preferred

Functional Knowledge:

·         Proficient in Excel

·         General knowledge of PowerPoint & Outlook

·         Some database experience is helpful

Company/Industry Related Knowledge:

·         Required: Understanding of pharmaceutical product lifecycle

·         Preferred: Knowledge of FDA submission process & timelines

·         Preferred: Understanding of drug or consumer packaging

·         Preferred: Generic drug industry experience
