Summary:  Under close supervision, responsible for the movement and supply of materials within the manufacturing organization.  Performs basic movements of materials as well as loading, unloading, dispatch, replenishment and cycle count activities.

  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
  • Physically handles movement of materials within the manufacturing organization, ensuring timely delivery of materials using various types of material handling equipment.
  • Systematically transacts any physical movements as they occur to maintain a high level of inventory integrity.
  • Coordinates daily production materials ensuring proper availability.
  • May be required to operate the Company trucks as necessary for the movement of materials between facilities.
  • Utilizes a bar code based inventory management system for all functions and is responsible for 100% transactional integrity.
  • Requires the use of various types of material handling equipment to include: swing reach forklifts, electric pallet jacks, electric order pickers, and sit down as well as stand up forklifts.
  • Generates reports from ERP system as needed on a daily basis.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, and prefer one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics or food industry.


Knowledge of:  


  • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Business English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Business and personal computer hardware and software applications.
  • Experience with JD Edwards operating system or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with multiple types of material handling equipment.
  • Experience with wireless radio frequency handheld devices.
  • Prior experience with pharmaceutical material handling or equivalent industry.
  • Current Company policies and practices, including safety rules and regulations.

Skill in:


  • Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read, write and understand documentation in English.
  • Establish and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Providing excellent customer service with both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exercising good organizational skills and detail oriented work.
  • Working under pressure and has the ability to multi-task.
  • Surpassing the entry level scores for the Work Keys exams.
  • Operating straight trucks under 26,000 pounds (for employees who will be operating company trucks).


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:


  • Incumbents in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, stooping and crouching, climbing and walking, twisting of upper body and neck, vision to monitor, lifting of equipment or materials weighing up to +50 pounds.
  • Contact with electrical equipment such as forklifts on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to withstand heights of +30 feet while traveling in a swing reach forklift. Contact with fluctuating changes in temperature several times a month.
  • Hearing / listening along with verbal communication required on a daily basis.
