Overview

Leads the maintenance team across multiple shifts to achieve business objectives in a solid oral dosage facility. The role will lead skilled technicians supporting the full life cycle of equipment from plan and procure through decommissioning and retirement. Will support multi-year transition to an autonomous and predictive maintenance organization.

Responsibilities

1.

Accountable for the performance and results of a medium sized team on multiple shifts supporting manufacturing and/or packaging operations.

2.

Exercises full supervisory authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination and other personnel actions.  

3.

Will ensure that team utilizes safe work practices and process controls to ensure a safe operation of equipment and facility. May include job hazard analysis, OSHAE 1910 equipment assessments, failure fault trees, and risk assessments to drive a preventable injury work place and continuously safe process.

4.

Supervises the maintenance team and contract resources to support the production plan and maintain the asset life cycle of equipment and facilities. Addresses issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines.

5.

Is responsible for the performance and results of the maintenance team to include safety, quality, reliability, and availability of assets in the care of the team. Supervises team to maintain departmental systems: predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, contractor safety, pest control, spare part inventory, confined spaces, and the computerized maintenance management system.

6.

Provides input and supports departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.

Qualifications

Education Required:

Undergraduate/BA/BS in science or engineering related field

Experience Preferred:

3-5 years of experience within pharmaceutical or related manufacturing facility

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed:

NR but Six Sigma Black Belt training preferred

Functional Knowledge:

Solid oral dosage manufacturing equipment knowledge a must (compression, granulation, packaging).

Qualification of equipment experience

TPM training

OpEx / Lean implementation experience
