Primary purpose and function of this position

The purpose of the role of Associate Director, Reimbursement Strategies (AD RS) is to liase between the brand teams and the market access teams to ensure that Teva’s products are reimbursed appropriately and accessible to the patients we serve.   They assess the reimbursement landscape in the US and inform the Business Units, Commercial Operations and US Market Access of strategic implications of payer management and reimbursement of products within our therapeutic classes.  They develop strategic recommendations which support optimal access of our brands.  They will function as a subject matter expert in reimbursement and provide a thorough understanding of the buy and bill  markets that our current in line brands, along with future launch brands compete in.  

The AD RS is accountable for the development and execution of the reimbursement tactical plan, including management of the Annual Operating Plan Financial Budget.  They are responsible for the creation of tools for the Market Access Field Teams, including Field Reimbursement Managers, and Business unit sales teams. They will collaborate with cross-funtional partners, including brand leadership, field teams, and other departments within the organization.  A demonstrated ability to work successfully as part of a cross functional team is essential. The successful candidate should have strong analytical skills, knowledge of managed markets and prior experience in a marketing/project management role.  This role will be focus on the buy and bill brands in NASM.  This position reports to the Senior Director, Reimbursement Strategies.


Major duties and responsibilities


  • Lead the development of Brand and competitive Pricing & Reimbursement Strategy through the annual Integrated Work Plan and Annusal Lifecycle planning processes.
  • Develop the Brand tactical plan related to reimbursement strategy including business plans, reimbursement strategies and access programs.
  • Manage all existing vendor relationships within approved budget in compliance with Teva SOW/MSA processes.
  • In partnership with Teva Patient Services, execute continuous improvements to the Reimbursement Hotline and support services.   Leverage new technologies and promotional opportunities within Compliance guidelines. Provide strategic analysis of the program metrics in collaboration with  Patient Services.
  • Work collaboratively across the broader Market Access, Reimbursement Strategies Team and Field Reimbursement Managers and Health Systems Marketing teams to ensure access to our products.
  • Provide expertise and –guidance to marketing research on Payer and Reimbursement related projects,  interpret and analyze findings and infuse learning’s into the brand team strategic planning.
  • Create reimbursement-related promotional materials within corporate regulatory approval processes for the FRMs and the field sales force to insure appropriate access and/or reimbursement for Teva brands.
  • Improve business acumen of the field team through providing subject matter expertise.
  • Participate in innovative reimbursement training programs and attend customer facing meetings/conferences to ensure interactions with key industry experts.  
  • Liase with the cross functional counterparts to maximize opportunities to increase access.  Participate in US and Global Value Proposition teams and collaborate with HEOR to determine the evidence generation needs for payers.



Required Qualifications necessary to perform successfully in this position



Bachelor’s Degree

Years of experience required:                     

10-15 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry or similar health care setting.


Specific type of experience required:

A minimum of 1 year of experience working with Medical Benefit/Buy and Bill Products.

A minimum of 1 year of experience assessing the impact of healthcare policy on patient access and reimbursement of buy and bill products.

Compentence in strategic planning and agility while working in a dynamic and fluid environment.  

Strong business acumen, professional expertise along with analytical skills, and the ability to leadwithout authority. 

Extensive experience in operating collaboratively with cross functional partners in a matrix organization.

Strong platform skills are essential to gaining alignment with senior management and building business acumen among associates.



Preferred Experience

2-3 years of reimbursement related strategic planning experience

2 years in sales management or other management role with direct reports.

2 years of experience in a customer facing roles with government and/or commercial payers

2 years marketing experience, including proficiency in the PARC process and vendor management.




Located in home office Frazer or KC

Travel about 15-20%
