The Senior Manager will be responsible for strategic leadership and operational oversight of all US Patient Education strategies for their designated therapeutic areas (TAs) including the management of the Patient Education budget and requests that align to the strategic priorities of the TAs. This will include developing the Patient Education strategy to align with TA strategic objectives, overseeing the evaluation of proposals in alignment with those strategies, and determining funding eligibility for Patient Education programs designed to demonstrate improved patient care and enhance patient/caregiver and physician knowledge. This includes developing Patient Education objectives and continuous review and monitoring of Patient Education activities.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for the development of the Patient Education strategy for their designated TAs in alignment with TA strategies and Medical Affairs Brand Plan and for the end-to-end management of all Patient Education grant proposals for each TA.
In determining eligibility for Teva’s support, they will receive and thoroughly review and evaluate all grant requests for Patient Education programs for completeness of appropriate documentation, compliance with policies, guidelines, and procedures as defined in the US Medical Education Policy and alignment to TA strategy. The Senior Manager will be responsible for recommending the highest quality proposals that have been identified as most clearly aligning with defined educational and company strategies.
Upon approval of a proposal, the Senior Manager will manage all communication between the Patient Education providers and the respective TA.
They will also provide ongoing support to monitor the execution of educational programs to ensure strategic therapeutic alignment, adherence to adult learning principles, cost efficiencies, innovation, compliance, and educational effectiveness measures. They will also be responsible for gathering outcomes from supported programs and analyzing and presenting to internal stakeholders.
The Senior Manager will represent the Patient Education function internally within therapeutic cross-functional teams and in management team settings. They will also represent Teva at external educational forums. Accordingly, the Senior Manager will possess expert knowledge and expertise of multiple TAs, industry standards, rules, regulations, and guidelines. They will research, monitor, and communicate trends and requirements related to continuing education standards. Within the department, they will assist in the development of Medical Education team guidelines, training activities, policies, and procedures.
The Senior Manager must maintain working knowledge of the functionality and operations of the Request Management System (RMS).
Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree in Education or relevant field (MS, MBA, PhD) required
5-10 years experience of relevant areas of Pharmaceutical Industry preferred Working knowledge of ACCME, OIG, PhRMA, and FDA regulations preferred
3-5 years experience managing educational and related projects
