Responsibilities

Job Summary:

 

  • Assist the EH&S Manager and the site to be compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety compliance regulations at the Federal, State and Local levels.
  • Develop and implement site specific EHS programs.
  • Perform risk assessments of current and new manufacturing & R&D process to identify risk and develop a mitigation plan to protect employees’ safety and health.
  • Assist in implementation of an ergonomic program, and conducting occupational hygiene monitoring and controls program for employee exposure management.
  • Assist in development and delivery of the EHS training programs including orientation and refresher training.
  • Coordinate and participate in EHS inspection program and incident investigations and close out of corrective actions.
  • Assist in implementation of Hazardous waste program, water quality, air quality, and other environmental and local requirements.
  • Assist in Injury/Illness incidents and Environmental non-compliance incident investigations.
  • Work with various levels of site personnel to establish and execute processes and systems that support and reinforce EHS compliance at the site.
  • Participate in audits of existing safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomic and environmental programs and address deficiencies.
  • Provide support during any regulatory or internal inspections.
  • Coordinate collection of EHS data reporting to Corporate
  • Assist and coordinate in implementation of various EHS enhancement projects.
  • Coordinate various EHS activities at the site as required.
  • Participate/coordinate facility’s First Aid Team and Spill Response Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by business needs.

Qualifications

 Education/Training/Work Experience:

 

  • 3-4 years of manufacturing industry experience preferably in Pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Bachelors of Engineering/ Science preferably in Occupational Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Engineering or Science or other closely related field
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
