Position Purpose:


The North America Site Procurement Lead actively manages leads the procurement activities within his/her responsibility area for the two Florida sites (Davie & Sunrise). The Florida manufacturing production and packaging operations are the largest US manufacturing facilities. The finish goods mix is both high volume with low complexity and also have extremely complex product manufacturing and low volumes. This site actively manages a large portion of new product launches requiring significant engagement for managing risk ensure successful launch timelines.  The procurement lead strives to generate and deliver ongoing value through year-over-year savings and to ensure the supply of goods & services for Teva sites and offices within a region. The position will collaborate and align procurement objectives with the site leadership team to identify, create and deliver defined savings targets each year Additionally the procurement lead will work to support the global and regional category managers for direct and indirect supply of goods and services.

A key responsibility will be to focus on a Stakeholder management where procurement can better understand and influence the site management team to align and endorse Procurement initiatives within his/her site(s).  


The procurement lead will ensure execution of category strategies that are aligned with Teva corporate strategy and financial goals.  He/she will seek to ensure stability and security of supply that is in line with defined current and future business needs at best possible value to Teva and the lowest cost.


This position requires initiative, leadership, and broad knowledge of the operation and good interpersonal relationships.


The Procurement Lead is responsible to lead all Procurement related project locally and identify all opportunities related to all spend activities at the Florida. The role is also responsible to work cross functionally to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions that will optimize the overall procurement process while reducing total costs and serving as the central point of expertise and knowledge for procurement.

The candidate will help support the important business enablement functions that keep our organization running strong. The person will work across teams to provide the knowledge, resources and tools that help us deliver exceptional quality service to our internal customers in order to support our continuous improvement. Major teams within Florida include Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Operations, Engineering, Quality and Materials Management.


  • Engage with and manage relationships with key stakeholders across Puerto sites plus additional site coverage as needed and where required with regional & local stakeholders such as e.g. Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Internal Audit to be able to deliver high quality, cost optimized goods and services with based on agreed service levels.

  • Work closely with Global Category Managers to influence and also implement global category strategies for/within Florida. Support local staff to be part of Category Networks. Design and build the process, organization, and service delivery model to achieve this

  • Provide single point of contact and accountability for the assigned sites in support of global and regional category managers in Procurement, providing overall strategies and targets for internal customers

  • Accountable for local Procurement support

  • Collaborate with other Americas Region colleagues to develop a unified and system driven process that is consistent across Teva sites and in compliance with the Global Procurement policies and procedures.

  • Provide input on Governance requirements that are consistent with Global Procurement strategies

  • Drive rigorous implementation of prioritized initiatives

  • Solicit input from global, regional and local procurement directors to develop understanding of site requirements, and collaborate to the global procurement organization to unify procurement practices across the enterprise where applicable.

  • Identify opportunities to consolidate locally managed categories at the regional/ country-wide level, and undertake necessary actions to migrate spend

  • Develop and maintain knowledge-base of categories within his/her area of responsibility categories, and maintain framework of operations to ensure transfer of knowledge over time

  • Supports/Promotes continuous improvement projects, including process and materials improvement options.

  • Identifies potential suppliers, performs competitive bidding process, selects best option and negotiates contracts for the site achieving best pricing and services for the site.

  • Develops alternate sources of supply, to provide best pricing and reliability to our manufacturing processes and to ensure continuous source of supply. Identify and mitigate risk issues.

  • Participates in all product transfer and new product initiatives for the site.

  • Be a central point of expertise and knowledge for procurement

  • Promote continuous improvement/cost reductions on a regular and proactive basis

  • Monitor category purchasing reports and ensure compliance with appropriate established policies and procedures on a continuous basis

  • Identify and implement streamlined category purchasing processes and supporting tools

  • Guide and coach on procurement best practices in compliance with TEVA policies, GMP, customs and SOX requirements

  • Successfully executing of deals in the timelines agreed with key stakeholders

  • Leading key negotiations and reporting on the team’s savings achieved and building a savings forecast






  • Procurement experience: 5+ years of procurement or supply chain
  • Pharma industry experience: 3+ years preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is required; majors in supply chain, materials mgmt., purchasing, business or engineering is desirable
  • MBA or relevant MS degree preferred
  • Professional certification in purchasing or supply chain is desirable, e.g. from ISM (CPSM, CSM, CPM), from APICS (CPIM, CIRM), from EPIM, etc.
  • Solid understanding of procurement best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to collect diverse inputs and put them in the broader context
  • Ability to collaborate and influence with stakeholders
  • Ability to draw strategic insights from analysis and effectively summarize and present insights
  • Ability to quantify financial benefits for identified opportunities and initiatives
  • MS office skilled (e.g., excel and power point)
  • Ample Communication Skills
